it's a rubberized spray primarily used for hand tools but has been very popular with the automotive scene. i just tagged a plastic piece on my tundra and it's very durable. so, curious has anyone tried it on there bike with good results?

I did my wheels with plasti-dip a while back when I did new tires and they still look good. I originally did them to see how my bike would look like with black wheels instead of the gold. It turned out so nice i have just left it on there. I am going to powdercoat the wheels next time i have them off to do tires. only cost 6 bucks to do both wheels.

My buddy did the roof of his car. I was going to do the rims on my truck, but haven't gotten around to it. I did to the inside of my party wagon though, held up pretty good..

Do a search on it. The stuff's awesome. You can just peel it off when you are sick of it, but it'll stay on forever if you don't want it.. :beerchug:

Used to use it on Chrome rims in the winter...

It is very popular in the 300ZX (Z32) scene for redoing the trim around the windows and T-tops. Works well there from what I have read. As stated above, probably not the best solution for parts that are going to be in contact with other parts or you, but because it is flexible holds up well to rock hits on wheels and facias.

Used it a lot on gun stuff. Some detachable mounts scratch the gun so I dip the mount 'claws' in Plasti Dip to prevent this. I've heard some dip their lever ends in it to prevent marking the bar end as well. Guess you could dip kickstand foot as well to make it stick a bit better? Maybe?

Get some dollar store playing cards and put them around the rim between the tire and rim, That way you can spray it real good on the lip and won't be able to see the old color next to the actual tire. Just remove them after you get done spraying the wheels before the dip is dried so it won't tear since it's like a rubber skin . I mounted my tires but didn't seat the bead until the plasti-dip dried. I'm sure it won't hold up to removing the tire when you need new tires, But it's easy to repair if it does get damaged. Just respray it and it bonds to itself..
