Places to stay suggestions

There are several .oRg members from Austin. Maybe they can help out.

I live in the Dallas area. You can't go wrong with trying to find employment or housing in the DFW(Dallas/Ft.Worth) metroplex area. Texas wasn't hit real hard by the recession because many large companies are still moving into the area. There's plenty of rental properties around if you're just trying to get into a place temporary. There's plenty of work here if you're not a lazy man. I don't know anything about housing or employment opportunities in Austin other but its a good city to party in. Most of all you can ride 9 months a year and dont have to deal with alot of weather precipitation they call snow. So around here you have to be quick on the winter mods.

I've never been to south africa, however I always thought it was one of the few nice places to live on the entire continent. I thought it had a good standard of living and was very modern.

but like I said, that is just my perception. I have not visited.

Lets put it this way, this is a beautiful country, with lots to do and see. Yes, things happened in the past that need to be corrected but the way its been done, means that the benefits get dealt to a privileged few, most family members of people in power, tender fraud of hundreds of millions of rands with the tenders being handed again to to the people in charge of the different towns who happen to be directors of companies who get awarded the tenders. In some towns the pot holes in the road cover the whole intersection which use to be tarred. When the high and mighty come visit the area, the roads are quickly covered where they will be driving promising this and that to the poor but when the elections are over, nothing gets done there for another 4 years. Plus the people get taxed for everything but the money gets " lost " or misappropriated and know body get held accountable. Its very free for all to see who can steal the most before some body finds out.
a base VW jetta in the US is $16495-00 ( converted thats R 111,776.08 in our currency )

What gets to me is that i am ethical person, who pays his taxes, works my @rse off and does his best to help people out where i can. But when i go for a job interview or my wife does we get discrimenated on because the need to employ certain people who most of the time dont even have the right qualifications but goverment demands it.
I want to move to the US to give my kids a better future, not stay in a country which is going down
Sorry did not want to get all political, and no amount of tax they deduct is going to benefit me in the long run but the rich people that run this country.

Sorry if i offended anyone

you are not being offensive at all, just telling the facts.

quotas in the job market never work. the product and/or service suffers.

best man for the job should get the job. period.

Yip I agree with you there. Hopefully I will be qualified for something when I come over to the States
