Pics from the track day I went to today!

Makes my want to try a track day.
I just can't justify the $500-$1000 for an okay set of leathers that I know I will never wear on the street. I know that they offer the best protection and "everyone else" wears them, but on the street a use a textile jacket, kevlar jeans, and a good full face helmet.
Dealers here seem to have a no return policy on anything they have to order...even on helmets that they don't have in stock in my size. I can't imagine trying to buy a set of leathers that fit properly without trying on multiple samples.

There are many reputable parts dealers that will allow you to make returns or exchange sizes. Several major brand leathers also run true to size. I wear Joe Rocket, because boots, pants, jacket, and gloves all are the exact same sizes as the regular clothing I wear, and it's good quality stuff too(One of many good leathers out there). Once you get used to them on the street too, they're no big deal. I switch my leather jacket for the mesh during summer, and with my boots and leather pants, gloves, I'm still not hot. It's worth considering if it gets you to the track, and God forbid you never really need them.

Thanks for the pics, Looks like a great time:thumbsup:

Nice pictures, thanks for sharing! I noticed several riders with jeans and low boots. Are they allowed on the track without full leathers? Novice maybe? Just curious!

Glad you had a good time. Atleast a month before I get to hit the track.... this is worse than when I was a kid and waiting for christmas...

Leathers are a huge pain in the arse until two things happen...

1. break them in
2. road test them

at this point they become as natural as anything else. Perferated leathers are also keep you pretty cool when your moving.

...so what if i'm the only guy dressed up like a power ranger.

They allowed an escorted "parade lap" during the lunch hour to people who wanted to get the feel of the track, you just had to sign a waiver! Very cool of them; the track day was put on by Tracktastics.

I'm so envious of you guys having all the fun in the "Sun"!

It's been raining here for a week with no end in sight. The river in my backyard is almost out of it's banks nearing flood stage.

With our first track day on Wednesday it's looking very much like a very soggy day!

Looks like you are off to a good start in the "Fun in the Sun" track time!

Thanks! Yes, that is cool to do that!

And they served lunch? Man, most track organizers have done away with that little perk. Gotta get my R6 ready for the coming year!

Most trackdays rent leathers for around 75 bucks.
