Paintage

Wouldn`t be easier to buy scratched set off ebay for less then 500 and sell the perfect one? $1000.00 is a good money.
I just can`t start sanding down the shiny paint.

Did you painted the tank without taking off gas cap and side plastics?
I am guessing it would be easier, however I am not paying for the paint job and don't want to have to deal with selling the plastics and tank. The Cap was covered up and the side plastics on the tank I wanted painted to match.

a little strange logic I might add...

It is faster and cleaner to take off gas cap before painting.
Side plastics paint will get loose in no time if not prepped correctly.

and thousand dollars sounds damn reasonable for few hours hasstle selling time...

Just my opinion...

Black looks the best no matter what...

Yeah things have been prepped properly you are correct. But see I'm that guy that gets a new vehicle and starts cutting and chopping on it then repainting it so I guess it extends to my bikes now lol.

Oh far as the gas cap...I am thinking about replacing it now, probably should have taken it out instead of masking it off. But everything ended up fine on it like it was. 1000 bucks would have been great, but I just priced things on ebay, I would have made about 500 maybe less depending on how picky I was with parts I bought.
