Newb problem shifting in to 3rd gear at high RPM

Hi firstly hello from U.K. I brought my Busa last Friday and GOD i love it ''what a bike'', i have not stopped smiling since Friday although it does scare the C*#p out of me.

I went out for a ride yesterday and i was finding it extremely hard to get into 3rd gear at higher RPM,s any thing above 5,000 RPM i would go to shift into 3rd and the lever would just feel solid after slowing down a little it would go in.

It is fine in any other gear. any ideas ?

i would also make sure you have a good adjustment on your clutch lever

(update) problem now fixed i changed oil and filter as oil was a little low and adjusted the gear lever slightley problem has now gone but im not happy with how much play there is in the gear lever i can wiggle it side to side and up and down without it engaging anything is this normall on these bike ? its a 2000 model.
