Yup, goes into effect Jan according to AJC. Gov. Perdue signed it into law basically breaks down to, over 85 on the interstate and over 75 on 2 lane roads you will get an extra fine ($200) slapped onto you ticket. Supposedly the money will go to Trauma Care to help with funds, after of course additional fees and administrative costs are added into it and it has sat in GA's treausury.

Also the law raises license reinstatement fees for DUI's, and violations whether they are vehicular homicide, racing, eluding, leaving accident scenes, adn moving violations...anywhere from $100 to $300 extra.
Interesting things coming down the pipe here in GA. So if you like to speed a lot slow it down some. I wonder how that will affect downtown ATL traffic...man those guys are cooking it through there. I have not yet developed an opinion about this yet.
