a big point to remember, the "cheap vegas flights" you hear about, are almost never through a major airline..
99% of the time they are through a small economy company that only flies one or two places...
so searching kayak, orbitz, etc. frequently wont find them...
for instance, allegiant from des moines, ia to las vegas on those dates is 300 bucks per person round trip...
anyhow, point is, investigate your airports, especially if you have a smaller airport that also does commercial travel that isnt the primary airport in the area.. small airports have lower fees for the airlines using them, and many smaller companies specialise in a few routes they do frequently to make it cheap..
