My GSD is a silly sod

In my clear up of my workshop i got round to taking the wheel spindle spacer out of a fcuked front wheel.
I then put it with all the other rubbish i need gone.
Well about 7pm last night the wife and i were watching a film and all of a sudden we heard this crashing and banging from outside.
We both go running out into the garden to see what was going on.
Only to find our boy GSD had got his head stuck in the wheel.
We got him to calm down and sit. The wife then sat behind him on the floor and i tried to pull the wheel off.
Well the wheel was well and truely on there and would not come off.
I said to the wife, I'm going to have to cut the wheel. She said NO, go get some soap.
I goes inside and gets a bowl with warm soapy water.
I then start to cover Leo's head and neck and the wife with the soapy water.
It then still took me 3 or 4 pulls to get the wheel off over his big head.
We don't know why or how he got his head stuck, but the wheel is now out of his way.
This morning he seems ok, but the wife has hurt her wrist. And yes i've been told it was my fualt for putting the wheel where i did.

Learned his lesson, I'm glad you managed to solve it relatively damage-free. Speedy recovery to your wife!
