Ok, I'm getting frustrated and thought I should ask for help before I mess this up (any more than it already is).
I set out to replace the packing in my Muzzy. The end cap came off without too much trouble. Then the guts pulled right out. Then I re-insert the new packing. Then I get set to reattach the end cap and wow, my oval muffler is now a round muffler (at least at the rear where I removed the end cap). I'm trying to squeeze the can into an oval and recap the end, but this is proving VERY difficult.
Do I just need another pair of hands, or is there a trick?
