I am considering both the aluminum round for $437 or the carbon oval $603. I think my wallet will win the conversation.

Anyone seen heard either of these? Suggestion?
Thanks,
Martin

As I posted on labusa's I have the stainless with oval titanium canister. I love it. Sounds great and looks even better. I think the busa looks better with a bigger can like the oval titanium. I dont like the little almuminum oval. Had one on my ZX-9 and they are very small. Look at it like this. Its a one time investment youll have to live with for awhile. Why not spend the extra cash and get something that looks good too. I know you put a high priority on the looks of your bike so I dont think you will be happy at all with the round aluminum. Get something oval.

i have the ti w/oval carbon on my blue 2000 and i'm suprized at how good the carbon looks.aluminum would polish easier but polished ti can will never need polishing.oh you'll hate polishing ti i've done it and it is hard stuff but worth the effort.

Martin:

Check on the Akropovic, I have had two muzzy's and had trouble with both, check with Nick, gixx1300r, he has the Akro too!

Akro is "quality", makes top HP and quiet enough to stay out of trouble on the street.

My 2 cents.

If you are convinced Muzzy for you, go with the least expensive, but verify with Doug Meyer the craftsmanship, quality and HP are equavilent.

doug is a good resource, tends to, of course tout "Muzzy stuff"

Ti is very easy to polish. I routinely polish Ti with a .02 micron (yes .02 micron) finsih on it. The secret is to use a colidal silica polishing compound. These compounds are slightly alkaline and make the polishing much easier.

Here are the steps I would recommend for polishing Ti.

1) Sand with 600 then 800 then 1200 grit silicon carbide sandpaper.
2) Polish with a 1 micron diamond suspension (if you cant get that use 1 micron alumina or TiO2..both are white). You may be happy with the polish at this stage. It looks mirror like but under very close observation some minor scratches may be visible.
3) Finsih off with a .02 to .03 micron coloidal silica polishing compound. This will produce a better than mirror finish.

The Ti will look amazing.

Does anyone know how these pipes compare to the Akropovic full system? I had an Akro on my 99 Busa and the quality was great but it was very quiet and i dont think i got much of a power increase. How much extra hp do you get from the Muzzy's?
