Hi all knowing and clever people :o)
trying to start my engine thats in a car .... i have a 2000 or 2001 engine, and a 2004 loom, injector block and ecu. when i try starting it up, it spins over has a big back fire and nothing. the engine has a good spark, injectors are working ( or you can see feul spray ok ) compression ok
i used to have an 04 engine that worked fine in my setup, but that is now swapped for the old engine, "engine" and ecu where only things that were changed

does the 2000 engine have different timing sensers, pick up points that the 04 ecu is not recognising correctly?
or anyone have any ideas

Swap all the fuel and electronic stuff .You want tou use the newerstuff. The older engine used a 16bit ECU,and the fuel stuff was different as well.

did I miss something or did he tell us what type of cage he is working on?
