Interesting Maq, Ros, Dov all bunched together. Usually Rossi is high on FP1 then goes down as everyone gets dialed in. Looks like the top guys are itching for a fight though.......

Rewatched last year's race today. Vinales was en Fuego this time last year. It all went South from there. He really needs to get something started this year.

I feel like Maverick is a "good bike" rider. There are riders who have that additional drive to win on whatever they happen to be riding (Stoner, MM, maybe Zarco and obviously Rossi). Maverick, Lorenzo, and Pedrosa to a point win when they have everything in their favor. Then there are guys like Crutchlow who win on the rare occasion they feel like it.

Wow FP2 wound up a bit of a head scratcher! Marquez out front (of course) but then Crutchlow and Rabat? Dovi dead last, I am not sure how Ducati got it so wrong here.

Good for Crutch but he tends to lose concentration? to go a full race in front. Surprising that Dovi was that far back but not surprising that Lorenzo was. Watch Lorenzo’s launch though, he’d make a good drag racer. Rossi is top of the third row which is pretty normal. He’s won from there before and apparently is having a better time than Vinales on their Yamahas.

This race promises to be a mixed bag for sure. The factory Ducatis are all suffering from traction deficit, not so much the 2017 sat bikes?

I just watched last year’s Assen race (again) which was Rossi’s 89th premier class GP win, EIGHTY NINTH! Petrucci was a close second and Marquez was third just edging out Crutch. Great race!

Just read that Miller actually bent the position sensor on his steering damper with that last Tankslapper! He earned that one!
