ET, made it to E-5 with almost no chance of E-6. Advancement was about .4% and I didn't have my PNA points anywhere near maxed. Would have taken 3 more years just to max those.

I remember one of the lines from the Captain's Welcome Aboard Letter when I reported aboard USS SHARK. It read...

"We travel fast and deep in an unforgiving sea."

Man if THAT statement doesn't sober you up.

I have never been in any form of military, but isn't that kind of disrespectful to all of the people fighting for this country that are not in the Marines? Or is it just something that they all tease each other about? Anyways, I had a good laugh
