Hit the chain with some kerosene to clean it up first, then lube it. May wanna check brake/clutch fluids too.

Where do you get kerosene at. I asked at lowes and got a dumfounded look from the guy ??? Will kerosene for lamps work?

Yes, same stuff. Do you have a Home Depot nearby?

Diesel Fuel should work as well as kerosene and is easy to get.
If you live where the weather is cold, #2 disel fuel at the pump is mostly kerosene anyway.

So the purpose of kerosene is to clean and lube the chain or just a good way of cleaning the chain? After the chain is clean, what product would you recommend to use on the chain to keep it lubed? Thanks
