Lower end dismantling questions.

1) any alternatives to the "starter clutch holder" and the "clutch sleeve hub holder" tools? I'm in the final stages of breaking this down and don't really want to invest in more tools.

2) anytrick to getting the case to split? I thinkI got every bolt, but the liquid gasket stuff they used just won't let go.

Are you sure you removed all of the bolts , both under the oil pan area and on top? Double check the manual for engine removal and dissassembly.

all the bolts that I can find are out...I just can't get the glue/rtv/whatever they sealed it with to unstick...I'll just keep trying.

i hate to say pry something in there but how else you going to get them apart? of course suzuki has a freekin special tool to get em apart. they nickel and dime ya every way they can

I got it open - it was a little 8mm bolt by the #2 rod.

anyone know offhand the size of the star-head bolt that holds the rods?

I'll measure them tomorrow but it's miller time.
