Large Gap Between Tank And Plastic (gen2)

I can't seem to figure out why this gap is not closing? tried tightening all the screws but still nothing.
any idea ?

Are you sure the top pin is in the grommet?

I'm with nosbig, Either the top pin is not in the grommet like it should or it broke.

Look at the pin right at the center of the piece. That pins drops (down vertically) into a grommet. Easier to push that in before you star pushing all the side pins and bolts in place.

If you lift the piece up a bit and pull/push it towards the tank and then lower the piece back down you may be able to get the pin into the receptacle. (if the pin isn't broken off).
