yeah, I'm going to that too..........maybe.
Just hope it's 90, sunny and absolutely no wind.
I left Keene at 8:30am after breakfast, got up to the Kanc in 2 1/2 hours.
Conditions in Keene: 75F/mostly sunny/25 mph winds
Conditions in Lincoln: 57F/Overcast/drizzle/45-50 mph winds
Rode a wet Kanc behind 75 cars doing 5 under the limit of 40.
Figured I'd head on up to Mt. Washington since I was "In the neighborhood" Headed north on 16 through North Conway.
Sat in traffic for about 45 minutes in the middle of Conway.
95% of the car, from Mass or Conn.
Finally got up to the auto road at the base of Mt Washington.
Guy at the booth "Sorry, we're not allowing bikes up today"
Me, "a little windy today huh"?
Guy "The temp right now is 31F, wind chill of -2F and sustained winds of
85-90 mph, visibility in spots of less than 5 feet".
So, if September 8-9th is looking like "perfect" conditions, I'm in.
If not, have fun, cause I've been there and done that.
Beautiful scenery and countryside...worst ride of the season.
