Due to extreme heat today, the engine cuts out as if it is losing petrol.

Cooling system is running fine, fans running etc.

Any ideas?

HEY dude, Your board name , avatar and signature are better suited for some place else. We have several law enforcement officers on this board and there is NO reason to disrespect them the way you are doing. I realize it's a free country and all but there are other ways to show your feelings and others boards to do it on. With only 4 posts I don't know if you realize this or not. Thanks for your anticipated quick action to rectify this. Bob

PCCM - You are new so you probably don't know the make up of the board too well. we welcome everyone, but there is kind of a mutual respect between al of us. And there is a variety of members on this board from all walks of life including Police Officers.

So wherever you are from, what ever your background, cool, but leave racism, hatred and dislikes for government and law enforcement at the door please.

Changing your name, Avatar and your signature, but still hanging around would probably gain you a great deal of respect right off the bat.

Have a great day!!

Ron

yeah what they said and your engine cuts out ? what is your idle speed, maybe it's too low, what type of heat are you talking ? I wouldn't think humidity would be much of a factor ..

Yeah, other than the location of earth.. where are you at? I know I don't have any problems with heat, but I am not in a humid environment either. I don't think it would affect it, I mean trying to rationalize, maybe high humidity could be doing something to the air going not the engine for combustion. But unless you are spraying a water hose down the air inlets, I would not think high humidity should have that much of an affect.

Have you tried calling a local dealership? if it is a humidity problem, I would imagine it would be a common problem in your area and if it is then your local dealer might have a good handle on what to do.

First off, my nic, avvy and sig are a joke, a reflection of my humour. I have the utmost respect for the law enforcement community (I actually work a couple of doors down from New Scotland Yard!), but enjoy ripping this piss as well. Believe me, whatever job you may have, whoever you are, there is always going to be some humour attatched to it, and laughs to be had.

If anyone still feels upset by anything in my profile, inform one of the administrators and let them decide if anything needs to be changed. I will abide by any house rules if asked to, but for now my feet are up on your table and I'm using your finest wine glasses from which to drink my beer.

My postcount is a very low for the time I've been here, I attribute this to the excellent posting from members here, a lot of my queries have been resolved by simply using the search feature.

Back on topic. I'm from the UK, and we're in the middle of our summer, it's humid as hell, and I think I've lost 5lbs through sweat alone today.

I think the humidity is the cause of the cut off problem I have been experiencing, as we have had hotter and less humid days than this and the bike has been running fine.

I think I can rule out idle speeds, as I try to keep the bike running at a stable speed and try not to under-rev it.

I will continue to research this as much as I can, but I ask that anyone who may have had any weird experiences like this please let me know, to compare notes and find out what could be causing this.

Same statement with the screen name and avitar......

Anyway, I'm here hot-humid Florida. Personally, I'm not having any issues with the engine cutting out.

Agree with banditoo, check you idle adjustment and set it near 1300 rpm. If that doesn't work thrasher has a good point, also. Call your local shop.

I dunno Man, I ride in Tampa which is humid as hell, but I have never had any problems withthe bike cutting out...
How many mile and what year of Busa? I know that there were some early fuel "screen" problems that sometimes got gunked up. I would maybe try adding a little fuel injector cleaner, see if that helps....

I can't help more than this though... Just taking a guess...

As for your avatar? Squirrels have monster Nuts... I've seen them... Dragging them across the lawn...

I don't like your Screen name, but changing it is a pain and I Cannot do IT... Damnit... SO, Uh no sweat as far as far as I am concerned... Just be ready to catch some grief for it, and Welcome to the board...

Like he said, I'm also in Florida, I've been a lot of places around the world and don't recall too many as humid as here. I also have no problems.

I am in Oregon and it was 100 here, and it's ALWAYS humid. I have never had a problem like PCCM is describing. Sounds like vapor lock, but is that possible on a FI bike? Maybe a pinched fuel line somewhere?

I agree with the others about the board-name, avitar and signature, but it is a free world (well, most of the "western" and European world at least). But keep in mind that those newbees (squids or whatever you want to call them) may come upon this board and see PCCM's "humor" and take the attitude as they might a role model's. We must (should) all be responsible motorcyclists. We have a bad enough public persona as it is, and well all pay for that image in one way or another.
