You guys are the best and a huge database of knowledge so here is my problem who has an easy fix lol.

08 Busa, she sat for a few months and would not start 100 percent dead. hooked the battery tender for about three weeks and still dead. So I replaced the battery. Runs perfect for about two months. Today took her out in real heavy traffic. Water temp was fine but all stop and go traffic. Got to my location and turn her off and she would not re-start. A slight cranking but not enough. Let it sit for an hour and she started right up. Drove home and tried a few more times and started up like no tomorrow.
Sorry for the long post but I don't want to get stranded and need it towed next time I am out.
Anyone ever deal with this? thank to all.

I have not had the problem with my bike but had a very similar issue with my camaro.. Turned out my issue was the solenoid on the starter was bad. Contact inside got hot and had a bad connection until it cooled.

With that in mind might check the wiring and make sure it isnt getting fried from the heat of the motor possibly or something like that.

My 06 Vmax did the same thing, replaced the battery first, ended up being a weak starter that would only act up when it was warm.

When running in stop and go traffic, the stator does not have enough voltage to charge the battery. If you put it back on the tender or give it a good maintenance charge, you should be fine. The reason it did not start after the stop and go was because it was not charged, the battery ran down. When you got home, you did not have extended stop and go traffic, all is good. I had the same issue a few years ago and ran the battery for a year after it did that. You should be fine.

Sounds as if you may a loose battery connection or the charge was not complete. By the way I always disconnect the battery before I hook up the charger, rather safe than sorry with all those electronics.

I did a little search because I remember someone mentioning this happened on their 2008 also so something to watch out for:

This is the actual fix for him so you don't have to read the entire thread:
