So this is sort of a long winded result of what started as a simple search for a cheap Action Camera because I had some Crutchfield bucks to blow.;)

Anyways I came across this Dash Cam System somewhere along the way that really got me thinking. I commute ~200 miles a week in what I term "Blue Hair Traffic". Lots of older retired folks driving Toyotas at sub speed limit speeds and causing carnage wherever they go. I spend a lot of time with one eye on the mirror as a result. This setup looks like a great solution and it seems to have some pretty good reviews as well. It comes with two waterproof cameras and even includes some kind of Lane Departure warning/Forward Collision Warning system, GPS overlay etc. Anybody have any experience with this system or Similar setups?

That is kind of cool. I need to bring up my cam next time I go home, would be a good idea to record my commute home just in case.

Just cant get past the DVR not being weatherproof. That would probably put it over the top for me.

Very cool. If they had a WP monitor you could use as a rear view camera. Also would be good if it had Bluetooth for warnings on the lane changes. Finally, if it could send video to your phone so you could FB live.

I just like the set it and forget it aspect this setup offers. I could see the value in being able to view the rear cam in lieu of mirrors. Also not entirely sure how the forward collision warning works. Sounds like most people disabled that and the lane departure warning.
