Too bad most folks think of it as just another day off. Wanted to say thanks to our armed forces, past and present. Civs should be thankful you complete your mission, day in, day out.

To all happy veteran's day.

(little email I sent out today)

I would just like to wish all of my fellow veterans a Happy Veterans Day. Today is the day we remember all of our fallen brethren, those who served, and those who are serving. If you know someone serving today is a good day to call or write and say Thank You.

To those of you who served, Thank You.

Take a min to read the following Poems, its worth the read.

<div align="center">We Stood For Freedom

We stood for freedom just like you
And loved the flag you cherish too

Our uniforms felt great to wear
You know the feel, and how you care

In step we marched, the cadence way
The same is true with you today

Oh how we tried to do our best
As you do now, from test to test

How young we were and proud to be
Defenders of true liberty

So many thoughts bind soldiers well
The facts may change, not how we jell

Each soldier past, and you now here
Do share what will not disappear

One thought now comes, straight from my heart
For soldiers home, who’ve done their part

I’m honored to have served with you
May Godly peace, help get you through

And now I’ll end with a request
Do ponder this, while home at rest

America, respect our day
Each veteran, helped freedom stay
Remember

It was the Veteran, not the reporter,
who has given us the freedom of the press.

It was the Veteran, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It was the Veteran, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to fair trial.

It was the Veteran, not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to demonstrate.

It is the Veteran, who salutes the flag,
who served under the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag,
who allows the protestor to burn the flag.

Irony is being a vet, working for the Gov't, and STILL having to work today.

But...I am getting paid overtime AND holiday pay, so it's all good.

Definitely just more than a day off for Americans...well, most Americans...

Thanks to everyone that has served and is serving now...

My grandfather passed away nearly a year ago...he was a Navy man...
Two uncles passed two years ago...both Marines that served in Vietnam...one never had a "normal" life after the things he saw/did over there...

Two cousins served in the Air Force (one Desert Storm); one re-enlisted in the Army and is now in Iraq...
My brother-in-law retired from the Air Force last August...he was in Afghanistan and Iraq twice just before he retired...scary times for his family...
Both of my parents were Air Force...my Dad served in Vietnam in '69...he's working today while I'm off...
I've got several more military friends and family...thinking of them on this day...

Thanks to them all...
