Grab rail Rear seat cowl

Does anybody have any pointers, plans, suggestions, or ideas on how to make the rear seat cowl fit over the grab rail/bar when its on the bike? I would like to avoid removing the grab bar every time I switch between the seat and the cowl. And, I like the way it looks. It was suggested to me to used a heat gun on the underside until everything is soft and then press the cowl on with the bar in place forcing the softened plastic to conform to the grab bar and latch. There by reshaping it. A little help please??? Thanx in advance

Yes you take a dremel or a grinder and grind grooves in your cowl. Look up grab bar mod.

Do not use a heat gun. That is a really bad idea...

Thanks. I did that on mu Gen 1. But this time on my Gen 2 the posts that hold the bolts that hold the underside of the cowl to the locking mechanism are hitting the bolts of the grab bar. I'm gonna take another look at it and see if I'm missing something simple and i'll try to search it again. Thanks for the info bro

On the Gen II, you have to take the hump apart and mod the base, and the hump cover. let me see if I can find the thread.
