Gen1 gen2 odd question

Ok going thru random box of leftover parts, what’s the end result if I put gen 2 rods and pistons on a gen 1 crank?

Didn't the gen2's extra 41cc come from bigger pistons??

No, came from the crank.

Pistons are same size but the pin is 2mm smaller and in a different location to accommodate the extra stroke

Gotcha, I didn't know that.

I “think” what this does is drop the piston .040, coupled with the bigger cc’s of the combustion chamber should drop the compression, not sure how much tho.

I may be over simplifying as well, not sure. Just trying to build another motor with spare parts lol

the gen 2 set up should lighter bc of the smaller pin. since the pin is moved up on the gen 2 piston 1 mm to accommodate the longer stroke, you will pull the piston 1mm down the cylinder bc in a sense you are de stroking a gen 2 rotating assembly. are you trying to run a low compression motor? what is your end goal for the spare parts motor?

Turbo, so lowered compression is gtg but how much lower is 1mm

With .080” of gasket thickness I get 10:1 if I did that right

I guess their sizes vary, might be bit difficult to fix them on each other.
