Crap!!! I'm only getting 12-13 km per liter (29-31 mpg for you yanks!!!) but i'm doing most of my riding in the city with my girlfriend on the back. I'm also 200lbs.

On the freeway, i seem to get about 14 km/litre (33mpg).

600 km on the '05 bike, so i'm hoping it'll get better once broken in.

I used to have a '99 gixxer 750, and i could go 350-400km on a tank of gas. With the 'Busa, i'm only getting about 250km before the needle hits the red-zone.

gas is pretty pricey in canada ($1.08/litre for regular). I didn't buy the 'Busa for fuel economy, but it sounds like my fuel consuption ratings are poor compared to the previous posts, even they guys that are worried that they're getting 30mpg!!!

Any suggestions?

Why buy a busa if your counting miles . I dont get it . I would still be happy as $hit on my busa if I only got 3 mpg . A BANDIT is always an option

Ouch, that stings!!!

It's just that i'm thinking of touring with it, and worry that there may be stretches where there isn't a gas station for 100 miles.

If I keep it at or below 70 on the highway I can max the display at 50 mpg. However, around town or riding a little harder I still don't remember seeing it go below 40MPG. I know with the new map I have for the PCIIIUSB and full dual HMF system it seems to run so much easier then before with no hesitation or flat spots anywhere.

it's okay, 'cause i'll know you had fun draining the tank!!

I'm just obsessing about my bike, and worry that's something's wrong with the fuel injection system.

But with the sharp rise of gasoline prices in Canada ($1.34 / litre) i haven't been cranking on the throttle, and the i AM getting better fuel economy (just not as good as some of the other reports)

Hope i can stretch it out to 250-300km a tank.
