Fuel starvation

I am starting to experience fuel starvation - this only happens when I knock down a gear form 70 - 80 mph and give it some stick - at around 8 - 9000 revs the engine will die and pick up again 1 to 3 seconds later - I was told of a recal on the fuel filter - was I imagining it or is it true - has anyone else had this problem.

What year is your bike? If it is 99, the screens are clogged and you need to clean them. See for more info.

hey I'm having the same starvation problem! I've heard about the fuel filter problems on the 99(the year I have), But I was wondering If the filter problems are covered by the recall I've been hearing about and does it cover the 99 model year.
