Frame sliders vs $500 deductible?

I install frame sliders on all the bikes that I've owned. I had a low side one time on my old 954 and the slider did its job, but I still had to buy a 400 dollar ferring for the right side not to include the bar end, and a new slider. T-rex sliders can be had for 110 bucks. So what's the logic of installing sliders if you're still spending more than your deductible when you spill?

I'm thinking they would be good for a tip over. I've seen little to no damage on bikes that have had frame sliders and fall over for what ever reason and come away clean.
