fork problems, need advise

Just pulled off my forks for what I thought would be a simple seal change and noticed a worn spot on the front of the lower fork the size of my thumb! It is worn through the chrome and the brass.
Can it be repaired? Or am I looking to replace? What may have caused this wear?<span style='color:chocolate'></span>

if you are talking about the slider part that is hooked to the wheel I have heard of rechomeing them but on a Busa I would say replace. There should be enough forks floating around to get a set
