The speed/power isn't the only problem. It's heavy, it's awkward, etc. etc. How are you going to feel standing there next to it right after you dropped your beautiful baby on the ground and caused $800 worth of damage?!
Pretty crappy, I can tell ya!
I'm not necessarily saying don't buy it or that it can never work. All I'm sayin' is that the first bike you own will take some hits!
Also, like I said in my post above, if you get a large bike at first, your ability to learn to ride, just plain ol' riding, it gets impaired. We find that when people try to learn too much too fast and on a machine that is too big, they overcompensate for the excess and they learn how to do things wrong.
I'm hoping you'll at least take the MSF course before you buy any kind of street bike at all. That will give you at least a half step up on it!
None of it means you cannot buy a Busa as a first bike. Some people seem to do okay in that scenario but I think it's rather rare. There are few such people on here and they're doing okay but let them tell you of their experiences and focus on what they did to make it a success. Last but not least, just because it worked for them, doesn't mean it's automatically going to work for you. Good thing is, this board has the resources you need to make it work if you're not to be swayed.
