Well I live in a Sunny friendly neighborhood full of Kittens and kids, Sunshine and Butterflies. I carry concealed about 90% of time for several reasons.

Like you I have had a gun pointed at my head, 12gauge, actually touching my forehead. Was an interesting and educational experience. What I took away from it was that if criminals are the only ones with weapons, they become emboldened, extra aggressive, and fearless.

I cannot for the life of me imagine ANYONE believing that Seriously? You wouldn't want your wife or girlfriend to have a last ditch line of defense? WTF? I cannot get around believing that you are just telling stories and trolling for a response.

Let me put it this way, every time you get into your car you buckle up most likely right? EVERY TIME. Now, How often have you needed that seat belt, to do it's job? Myself I've been saved by a seat belt twice. So that's two times in 20 something years of driving. That's not much, BUT EVERY TIME I GET INTO THE CAR I BUCKLE UP. WHY? Cause it will save my life should events unfold that are out of my control and I am in an a collision. I wear a Helmet, leathers, gloves when I ride, EVERYTIME... WHY, I've only "Needed" my helmet once, what are the chances of needing it again? Why Bother... But we do, whenever we ride...

Carrying a concealed weapon is the exact same thing. The chances of me needing it are remote in the extreme, but it's there if I need it if someone decides that they are going to take something of mine that I am not willing to part with. It's as simple as that. I'm responsibly for the safety and health of myself and my loved ones. I think it's criminally negligent and foolhardy to assume that "someone else" will be there to protect you. Who? The Police? Unless you've got a cop or two in your entourage they aren't going to be there to help. So what have you got? It's naive to believe that it just wont happen to you. Look at your own stories, crime happens, criminals have guns and NO AMOUNT of legislation is going to make them stop carrying weapons. They are criminals and by definition do NOT CARE ABOUT THE LAW. You are a money making opportunity to them plain and simple.

It's genuinely NOT some form of "Tough Guyism" I've been in plenty of fights, and I have no trouble either handing out or taking a bag of whooped. I've been beat pretty good before, it doesn't hurt that bad. The problem is that NOBODY just wants to "kick your butt" and steal your wallet. No NO, nowadays, you get freaking teenagers, breaking into homes and terrorizing the family for hours, days, doing what they will to whomever they wish setting up shop, whatever before eventually killing the occupants outta boredom or just leaving. Out on the streets it's a similar pattern. No longer satisfied with simply taking a wallet and leaving, it's much more immediate, violent and aggressive. Even here in Seattle which is pretty mellow compared to much of the rest of the country the criminals are getting much more violent often killing, raping, or injuring for no reason.

Chances of it happening to me? Pretty damn slim, I've got excellent situational awareness, I avoid situations and areas that are known hot spots, and my home security is pretty decent. BUT, You cannot, and will never be able to know when and if your number comes up. Just like being in crash, You wear your gear 100% of the time why? You buckle up 100% of the time why? You lock your doors at night? Being proficient with a pistol, and carrying it with you is the same exact thing, NO DIFFERENT. In the extremely remote chance I need one, I'll be damn glad that I have one. I have absolutely no issues using lethal force to stop or prevent an attack. Not one second of hesitation, doubt, or concern. If you do, then you shouldn't be carrying a weapon.

Your two stories are interesting, but the assumptions you've made are flawed and smells of little more than rhetoric, rehash, and story telling. Sorry if I'm wrong but as I read through your post again, I'm pretty sure you're just trolling.

OH and FWIW, IF IF there was some miracle and we could actually make all the firearms disappear. Literally, Cops don't have em', criminals don't have em etc? It's magic lets say... I would love to be able to stand toe to toe with the gangbanger wannabee and actually fight it out to see who takes my wallet home. Hell even if I loose it would be a welcome change.

"Im trolling", yeah,whatever that means.

Im not gonna get into a pissing match with you, your 25k+ post doesnt mean sh!t to me other then you need a hobby.

and you dont need to believe anything I say but next time you call someone out,you should know something about them first and not be so ignorant.

now you can admit you are just self loathing

Never said anything about my 25000 posts counting for anything there sport.

You're sounding like you need to go ahead and take a long look in the mirror. Only Self loathing I see is coming from you.

I don't NEED to know anything about you, and I don't care. All I needed to know was in your marginally coherent initial post. What you posted was flawed and ignorant. You can go ahead and stomp your feet and get all worked up if you like. I was merely providing an answer to a question and then realizing that I was most likely wasting my time...

You've proven me correct.

you tell me what was flawed and incorrect?

have you ever shot someone?

how are you so sure you could if the time came?your not and you cant be.

I seen trained Marines lock up when the time came and believe me,they thought they could kill anything, its not as easy as you think and anyone who thinks it is is a fool.

so,you keep riding around with your piece,if it makes you feel more like a man ,just dont drive through my neighborhood,Im sure it would be taken off you in a heartbeat and you'd get the ass whipping of a lifetime.

I disagree with Revlis on some very important things, but we seem to agree on firearms, he,(for better or worse:whistle:), is a pillar of this .org

I try not to take this place too seriously, even when we talk serious. Have a drink, sit back and get to know some folks here. Get a few posts under your belt before you drive too many points home, just my two cents. It's all good:thumbsup:

Did you just call Robot a "cheerleader"?

There's some things you wouldn't answer in a public forum nor will I.

But don't ever assume, that you are the only one that has ever been in a less than ideal situation.

I refer to flawed logic as "I was in this or that situation, and if I'd had a "piece" someone would have died." What?

Perhaps if you had been carrying your situation awareness would have (should be heightened) and chances are you never would have been in the "carjacking scenario".

We can run scenario's and NRA fantasies through the ringer all day and not get anywhere, there's no point. But to say that folks are better off without a concealed weapon, ESPECIALLY when they are small or female makes no sense.

Remember to buckle up, you cannot escape a submerging vehicle if you are knocked unconscious upon impact. FWIW

Well said, without being harsh.

Not good to come across to outspoken. Explain your side & don't get ruffled if someone disagrees. We all have opinions................

hey man, thats all i did, then I was called out as "story telling". I dont mind someone questioning my opinions but dont call me a liar, c'mon.isnt like i said I wrestled the gun from his hands and killed him with his own gun,,,ha, now thats story telling. man,I got jacked and got shot at,I thought that was pretty humbling of me to tell,sh!t my friends teased me for days for not kicking the guys ass but hey man,all I wanted to do was get the hell out of there.

and the other story is true as I am alive,I wasnt proud of that and was somewhere I shouldnt have been that night.cost me big $ in lawyer fees.and I was in the right.

its all good, though,Im just on here to share shop on the Busa, not even sure why I ventured into this thread.

I know how guys with there guns can be,it just isnt a good idea for me,thats all.

No such thing as a good cheese steak this far West....

Last good one I had was in Omaha Nebraska. And that wasn't all that good.
