How many of you have heard of SOPA (Stop Online Privacy Act)? This new legislation that is being discussed is good in theory but terrible for websites like ours... Read up on it and make your own decisions, but who thinks that the US government should be determining or managing online piracy? My problem isn't with the concept it's with the disconnect that the Govt and the lobbying music, record and movie industry are going to also be a part of the clean up process...

The legislation is vague and far far over reaching. The intent is to go after websites that are allowing streaming copies or torrents and downloads of music and movies to be dealt with. This legislation would also reach into the doors of places like the ORG and allow the US govt to give us 5 days to make changes before they had the authority to completely remove us from the Internet. Just like the domain never existed!

More pencil pushing folks in congress listening to lobbyist and not the technical folks that run the Internet, only listening to those people that make money from it.....

If you have a way to speak out this is a good time to do it to your congressman.... By the way... look up go daddy.com and SOPA, they supported this new legislation until they lost about 80,000 domains last week.. Now they are all against it.. Perfect example of a company willing to bend just for the sake of a buck....

This guy is a retard but his message is the truth.

Basically CBS owns sites such as CNET and other sites that host peer to peer networks for download and started the online piracy trend. Now CBS is one of the top contributors and moneybags behind SOPA
