Hey samizx7, if you want to try this option, let me know, I have old broken pieces and I'm frequently in the Miami area.

[*]Here is a pic of my Headlamp repair.  I didn't sand it down to make it look good since it will be hidden.  But this save me hundreds of dollars over a new one, since you can't just buy the piece that was broken.

Did you use a plastic welding rod when you did this? I don't know why, but if you don't us a rod when welding with acetylene, you will never just be able to melt two pieces of metal together.

And way off the topic...Never try using a heating head to bend something like an aluminum foot peg.  You'll either watch it suddenly go liquid, or it will just snap off when you try to gently bend it. Did this twice. Ended up saying "Why didn't you just leave it alone?"
