External fuel pump/filter conversion?

Has anyone switched over a Gen2 Busa to use an external pump and filter? I've got my filter in the tank all gummed up, and will need to buy at least a new pickup screen ($55!!), and maybe the filter too ($260!!!!!!!!). Cleaning the screen and filter once helped for a bit, but it's running poorly again. I figured since I have to invest time and money to on the assy, I might as well just switch over to an external pump and inline filter. Can't believe how much Suzuki charges for this stuff . Has anyone done this or seen this done?

This is my new inline filter. The filter can be cleaned. It will last forever. I also make a fuel adapter plate that will allow you to run an external fuel pump. It can be run as a return or dead head system.

Mine is plugging too.... I'm guessing the stuff is so pricey due to the very small diameter injection ports (multiple laser cut) require very clean gas to avoid plugging, hence "super filter'... ~$300?
