Hi guys...

Sorry for the newbish-ness, but I am a complete idiot when it comes to anything electrical.

So I did the no-cost fender elimination, as described here:
https://www.hayabusa.org/forum/gen-ii-busa-information/132414-gen2-no-cost-fender-eliminator-tag-bracket-tutorial.html

Except the one thing I didnt do, is install the LED light, as I dont think I need it. They aren't too strict about that sort of thing here.

Anyways... As I am not connecting an LED to the existing wires, can I just leave the wires as-is, and just push them back up into the tail? Or will this cause some issue down the road? Will I need to bridge the two with a resistor the same resistance as the light? Or is it ok to leave that circuit open?

It is okay to leve the circuit open, just make sure you cap the end of the wires so you dont get any shorts before you push them back in.

I really suggest you add the LED. It's very simple and very cheap and there's no reason to make yourself easy for a cop to stop! Also if you sell the bike you'll need it then anyway. I know it's a DIY but do it right :rulez:

i went to autozone and picked up a led light strip that is adhesive backed-about 12-18" long and flexible/waterproof, also cut to length. Cut it about 6", applied an extra layer of 3m adhesive to the back for extra security, and just stuck it to the underside of the tail right above the plate. Works perfectly and illuminates the plate nicely, maybe cost me about $10 tops. Very easy job to just splice an led light into the license plate wiring

i may just do that... We will see. I didnt like the look of the big LED on the bottom of the tail light, but a flexible LED strip might not look too bad. We'll see. Its not super high priority on my list, but eventually.
