drag strip beginner!

Jason,

I'm an older street racer. I have a couple of old riding friends(Terry Vance,Jay Gleason) and was wondering if I'm bringing my own bike also, What's the $145.00 for? the VHT must be expensive where you live, here its only 6.00 a gallon. What can you teach me? Sounds like an expensive lunch!
Just wondering as many years ago on my Honda CBX I'd waste all the Kawi Z1-r's & never lost a drag race in 3 years. There is alot to preping the bike for the track. And probably you could show someone body posistioning. But I saw a drag racing school for 40.00 dollars more that you use there strip bikes. Hummm...

Heck, I'd pay $145 just to make 5-6 passes on a track like that. Being from Southern California, land of diminishing and un-kept tracks, running on a track like that would be a treat in itself. Add lunch, one-on-one driving assistance, set-up tips, and 20-25 more passes, count me in.

I consider myself a very good racer from the West Coast, but I'm sure there are things I could learn.

Jason, you've got a good thing going, we just need one of those out here for all the squids to get educated on.

haya, you have a lot of balls ragging on jason, who runs 9.2's on a stock busa. how many stock busa's you know that run that? thats right, 1...and that would be his, and thats mostly due to his RIDING...$145 for 8 hours and 30+ passes on a prepped, great, track? sounds good to me.....

Hayawiz,
With traction spray, EMT, ambulance, staff, lunch, and track day set-aside for class, $145 is pretty reasonable I thought. Like yourself, there are many racers that have been around for awhile that know alot already. Most of those people don't take my class. There are alot of people however, that want help, and have not been doing it long enough to learn it all. Then there are the people that have been racing their friends for years, and couldn't beat them, then they take my course and go whip them the next weekend and their friends don't know why.

If you know alot about drag racing, then hopefully you know more than just body positioning.

Jason

Also, since this is a "Streetbike Drag Racing Course" most people want to know how to ride their bike, not someone else's. So that is why my course is set-up for, Bring your own bike. We have alot of fun, and people learn alot. For most tracks if you rent it for a day, it would cost at least $100 for each person, In mine I add lunch and my services.

Progress! I met Daddy Long Stroke at Budds and he provided me with a few tips which gave me a little more confidence and I ended up with a 10.6 at 132mph. Nothing to brag about but progress in the right direction. I actually feel like I can run low 10.s with a few more passes.

Thanks DLS
