Was just curious as to how many DIY guy has done there paint jobs.
Was reading and think I may give it a try/ practice on some stuff first.
I am not trying to paint my bike until April of next year. I figured i'll try to learn all i could in the mean time.
I have always love the white version( but more of a pearl) and the Gold and black Version.
I think white is easier on the eyes.

Nice work Dennis . Ham just so you know the correct tools , paint materials will have a big initial cost , not to mention water separators , compressor . Paying for a pro whos tooled up often times is cheaper , and better than the home DIY job .

I agree with you, i don't know of a good place in the Philadelphia tri state area. The person that i knew years ago moved. Unless you could recommend some one.

Bikes are harder to paint than cars. The small air intakes, sharp crevices in the fairings, etc. make it challenging. It seems like every part has many sides to get at.

It is a hobby of mine so the equipment is something I buy anyway. I paint some cars too.

If you do all the prep work and take it to a decent auto body shop you could probably get a decent deal. The hourly rate and materials wouldn't be that bad if they priced it that way.

I have painted quite a few bikes, among other things. Good prep work and a debris free paint booth (or area) make all the difference. Buy a decent gun, do some practice and go for it.

Thanks Wayne. That blue Busa is a Ford F150 color that we jazzed up with some extra metallic. It looks much better in person. I really like that color of blue.

The blue 14 is Ford Grabber blue but we put some violet and silver pearl in the first two coats of clear. It worked out great but nobody will ever match it.
