cush drive is toast

Cleaning my chain today and I noticed the sprocket moved forward and
backward about 1/8th to 1/4 of an inch without the rear wheel moving at all

Cush drive is toast, ordered the Sensie replacements from boostbysmith.

My problem comes from the last time I did this, a couple of the bolts stripped
out. They were all on and torqued, except for the 2 which stripped just before
torque was reached (but they were tight) so I left em and figured I'd screw
with it when on the next go round...well, it's the next go round.

Couple a questions:
1-I wonder just how much trouble I'll have getting the bolts out, don't have
and easy out (maybe I should get one) or drill em out...cut 'em...suggestions?

2-Looking on Mr. Cycles for replacement bolts and nuts and it lists the nuts
as "nut" (1 part) and "nut upper (another part number)...what nut upper?
I only remember the nut as being a one piece common nut, what am I missing?

My 07 has 18,500 miles and my sprocket will move in the cush drive when it's unloaded ( on the stand ). When I'm changing rear tires, about every 1800 - 2200 miles, my sprocket practically falls out of the cush drives. Some on here say that's normal and some say they have to pry the sprocket out...
Anyway, what bolts are you talking about being stripped?

Nick

The sprocket bolts, well 2 out of the 6 anyway.

I bet these are going to be a bugger to get off.

I've had my sprocket bolts out and yes, they did have some lock tite in them but it wasn't anything to be concerned about. Are you going with a new rear sprocket? You know the cushions are in the wheel hub and no tools are required to inspect/replace...

Nick

Just replaced mine and there are no bolts to undo. All you need to do is remove the rear wheel and from the sound of yours the wheel hub should separate on its own.

DOH....ya know what. You guys are right. :banghead:

Last time I did it was a chain/sprocket replacement...did the cush drive
with it because the wheel was already off.

It was a while ago and I was thinking it was one big shabang.

Oh well, I ordered a bolt and nut set. I will use them when it is chain
spocket time again, so they wont go to waste.

Pooh...:banghead:

Buy a set of KPS, or some Sensei from Greg at Boost By Smith......you'll never go back to stock....EVER !!!! :super:

BTW-My e-mail from Boost by Smith said that the Sensei was just as
good as the KPS and he has issues getting the KPS so he wont be offering
KPS anymore.
