Couple of chain questions

I am at work with my bike and want to measure my chain stretch since we have micrometers here. Does anyone know what the procedure is? And also if it does need to be replaced do you need to replace the sprockets as well? the bike has about 11k on it. Just heard horror stories about the stock chain letting go. Dont want to be in the boat.

center on a piviot and count out 21...then measure.. honestly if its stock i went all the way to the rear of adjustment (without overhang). 319.4mm or 12.57 inches is limit according to maual

thanks. i did a quick measurement and i am still good. going to just clean it and lube her up.
