coolant....please respond!

my busas been running rather warm lately even in 50degree weather, so i pulled off the fairings for paint the other day, and noticed my coolant level is really low.... in the reservoir on the left side, ive never had to maintain this, what do i use to top it off? yes i realize this is a newbie question but....help me out!

50 50 mix of distalled water and engine coolant,I would check around for a leak also.

buy some premix 50/50 coolant water and throw er in....

been running that for over 2 yrs with no heat problems even in 100+ heat

sometimes you might have to get the air out, or "burp" the system. Mine ran hot when it was brand new until I flushed and refilled it.

I don't know about the new models, but the older ones would get a white powdery substance in the over flow after a while. If you have this pull off the over flow and rinse it out while you are in the area.

Why? what does that powdery thing do? I've noticed that I have those in my overflow tank.
