I have an 01 Busa that will be waking up from hibernation this week. I was wondering if there is any maintenance that needs to be done with the clutch? Cleaning, fluid change?

Maintenance is not just limited to the clutch. Did you just get this bike?

i was just asking about the clutch. had the bike for 4-5 years now. only has about 9k on it. i change the oil annually and did the coolant when i first bought it. spark plugs should still be good as well as the air filter. i ask about the clutch because i heard that you get build up from the chain lube in that area.

Whoever told you that...dont listen to them anymore... The clutch is in a sealed compartement in the engine case. There is no way that chain lube is making its way to your friction discs/plates.
Now if you are talking about build up around the sprocket and sprocket cover, then yes, you need to keep this clean. Plenty of sh!t in there...

not to mention the clutch is on the opposite side of the bike from the chain...

clutch, brake, engine oil, coolant, the other brake and the air in the tires should all be changed... (well maybe the air is ok)

so i should take the cover off and clean around the front sprocket? i guess i was more concerned about the clutch meaning the slave cylinder and fluid. Is that what it is called? Is there anything that needs to be done there since its hydraulic?

Yes, that cover incorporates the clutch slave cylinder. Pull the sprocket cover off. clean the gunk off the cover and engine sprocket. Clean the slave rod and grease both ends.

Clutch fluid can be changed every couple of years.
