I know I'm on the other side of the planet (some say a different planet) but is chroming your wheels an expensive or risky thing to do. I might end up having to send them to England as I can't find anyone who can do it here .Maybe our English brothers can shed some light on this ? Any advice or recomendations greatly appreciated as always ..

I'm pretty sure someone in England can do it...I don't know who (since I'm from halfway around the world as well) but I don't see why they couldn't.

Prices vary....and I've been told that chrome is not good for places that receive plenty precipitation. Somethin like it deteriorates quicker than it would in drier places.

I like riding more than polishing, so I say no on chrome.

Just did it myself, for less than 100 USD I might add, I'm sure you can find a chromer in the UK though, they certainly produuce some fine carbon fiber pieces there! NJ.:)

Put down your Guinness long enough to pick up a StreetFighters mag, look in the back. If I remember correctly there's a company that not only offers traditional chrome, they've got the colo(u)r variations also. Very cool. They also make catch cans, spray bottles and exhausts in cool logo's as well, Coke, Budwieser, etc.

Chroming is expensive, but looks good depending on the color of your bike.

Add me to the $100 chromer list if the chrome is good work.

Chrome does weigh more than the stock wheels, I wouldn't do it myself but i have the AE with the black frame and black wheels, looks great to me. Check on Powdercoating the spokes the same color as your bike and machine polishing the lip to a "chrome like" shine.

Thanks Sully , I had a Bandit 12 with polished cases and wheel edges but it was a serious pain to keep them shiny, some kind of white powery cr*p kept appearing on the surfaces , wouldn't do that again .

Nope, had them before. The black hides more chain lube and dirt. Ride and dont worry about the chrome...
