i just got a alien head kit and have been talking back and forth with brock and his tech is telling me they ran a tenth or so slower with a tre on the bike and lost as much as hp on the dyno i just paid 110 for the smart tre i'm kinda pissed has anyone actually seen their et improve from the tre not just 60 ft???

Mine seems to run better with the TRE.

I don't TRE, but from what I've skimmed on here, the TRE can slow down the lower gears just a smidge. You need a switch to bypass it. Try the racing section of the ORG for more info

i've just talked to two other guys that run in the 2 wheelspeed bracket racing out here and brock and they all said i tre is junk for drag racing and they went slower also so take em off if you have them and u guys might see a couple more hp with them off from what i'm told

endless debate on this subject but personally, my bike does not see 185+ and with the PC3 on it, no need for a TRE..

I figure the factory has different fuel/timing maps for all gears for a reason.. not going to second guess them

If you do a search on this board (and probably other boards)

A TRE is supposed to eliminate the top end restriction, it also can smooth out jerkiness when in first gear riding slow (like when you are on base in a 10mph zone)

But I have never heard of any serious racer using them on bikes (drag or otherwise)

If I remember correctly, Johnny Cheese (elite tuner) usually frowns on TRE's and has stated a good tuning will accomplish whatever is needed

There are LOTS of other posts about TRE's on this board. I "think" most end up coming to the same conclusion. TRE is a cheap way to try and bypass top end factory restrictions and maybe try and smooth out low gear / low RPM jerkiness.

But if you are into racing, seems most serious people dont even consider a TRE.

Me? I have a TRE, mainly got it to try and smooth out speeds below 10mph because it sucks when I am on base and the bike is jerking because it hates to go so slow. Oh and the gear indicator is cool lol
