Still does not fix the boiling fluid issues that a rider like Vman can generate but then again, you must look at his service schedule... I bet he does not fudge on it either..

I throw away brakes that could still be used, just due to my riding style. Along with fluid, they are inexpensive and easy to change. I see people spend many bucks on modifications but not spend chump change on a miti-vac and fresh fluid.

Is changing fluid after every Gap trip or a track day necessary? Even for me, probably not but it is cheap insurance.

Ok after reading all this, what is the real advantage from the dot 5? Other than safe on paint a boiling points? Any actual peformance advantages, such as stiffer feel? more pressure? Or just benifit from higher boiling temps? Much easier on the wallet $2.50 pint to $12 a pint.

The main reason I changed, again to DOT 5.1, was brake fade on trackdays. Higher boiling point was the reason.

Remember, we are talking about different fluid.

DOT 3 and 4 are compatiable with DOT 5.1.

DOT 5 is NOT compatible with 3,4,or 5.1. Lots must be changed that have been covered in earlier posts, IE all rubber parts that have been exposed to 3/4/5.1.

The reason to switch to 5.1 is the higher point if you are experiencing brake fade. The Busa is a heavy bike and when ridden hard on the track, brake fade is an issue.

If you have lines, pads and rotors and are needing a better brake feel, make a switch to a Brembo master.

To try and clear things up... DO NOT CHANGE OVER TO DOT 5.

If you are roadracing, carry a heavy payload, or for whatever reason are boiling you stock fluid. Spend your money on castrol srf about $80usd/litre.
It is second to none! Formula one and moto gp use it.

Going down in rank would be afco, ap racing, and motul600.

Hey Vman, I run Braking rotors, Vesra pads, SS line....can I retrofit a Brembo master cylinder and still use my Pazzo levers? I guess the real question is...with Brembo, must I go to a different Brembo lever or would an OEM Busa lever fit (therefore my Pazzo Busa lever would also fit). Raydog

Thanks for the fast answer! OK I could buy another Pazzo for the "feel" I love...with the Brembo unit....do you sell that stuff?

Thanks again Vman, I ride hard in the twisties (with all them younger Nor Cal fellas) with occasional track days, weigh 240+ and think your conversion would be perfect. I'm saving this strand and right after I get a HD flatscreen (just got permission from my boss)I'll PM you (like after taxes). Have to do the flatscreen first though...with Qatar doing the first MotoGP in HD AT NIGHT! Take care, Raydog
