I have an 06 and was doing maintenance and discovered that the drive chain is on its limits. The manual says to count out 21 pins (20 pitches) and the service limit is 319.4mm or 12.57 inches. Mine was right on the limits. I ordered new steel sprockets (17/40) and a EK530 ZVX2 (gold) chain. My question is "How much did it stretch?" As in how long are 21 pins on a new chain (don't have the new one yet)? By the way - got 16,000 miles out of the stock chain ... was religious about lubing it ... Thanks in advance. Deadeye.

Chain is a 5/8" pitch. So, .625" 20 links/pitches .625 x 20 = 12.5" stretched .070" across 20 pitches or about .413"￾ on the whole chain.

Thanks Professor ... when the new one gets here, I'll measure it and see if it agrees with your calculations! Deadeye
