Car question: leather seat color repair

I have an 89 Mustang GT convertible, 58k miles on it. After I bought it and was detailing it, the leather cleaner took off the shoe polish the previous owner put on the seat to hide the wear in the leather. I was told by a person at the local shoe repair place NOT to use a good paste polish on it, as it would rub off.

Does anyone know what I need to use to put the color back on the seats and hide the wear??
