this is a feeler. i'm unemployed right now, and have been considering offering retrofit services. i'm thinking a bixenon projector in place of the factory low beam, and the high beam will work as normal, so you'll have two high beams. or, i think i could do a pair of high/low projectors for a completely retardedly bright combo. what would you be willing to pay, after shipping, parts, and labor, for a completed, functional, bixenon retro?

well how much do you want one? and what do you want replaced? replace the high beam projector with a high/low, and leave the stock low beam, or replace the low beam with a high low and leave the stock high beam? or replace both? ccfl angel eyes, leds, tell me what you would want. i've found a fantastic source for parts, so price would be low. with 5 committed orders, i could probably get a group buy going. but tell me what YOU want.

If I did this, I want my factory high beam to stay as it is, replace my low beam or use my existing HID bulb for the retrofit. Now how much?

how much do you want to pay for it? my plan was to replace the low beam with a projector, high and low beam. it'd take a D2S bulb in the new projector, i'm still checking into how much the adapters would cost. it'd utilize your existing HID ballast, but you'd need a new bulb.

I WOULD LIKE TO BUY THE "angel eye in blue" kit and a High/Low HID KIT. I HAVE A 2006 HAYABUSA. I need an H7 low and a 9005 in High beam. I want both of them in the 120K color range. Also, I know all ballast are not created equal, do these kits come with waterproof ballasts? Please let me know soon, because I am iching to place this order

it's not just a kit bro, you'd ship me your headlight, i'd install a high and low projector in place of your low beam, i could also install the angel eyes at the same time. if you are really interested, even in just a kit, send me a pm and i can get you some details. if i end up doing this as a job, i'll sign up as a vendor, don't worry mods. but for now, i have a direct line with a manufacturer of some oem HID parts, and i'm unemployed. so i've got time to do some retrofitting.

I got it. I have sent you a PM. I am interested in replacing my low beam, and have a high and low projector in place. I would also like to have an Angel Eye installed in my light assembly. Please send me details.

yes, 12000k is very very purple. almost pink. very little light output for what you'd pay. as far as being super expensive, i paid around 1100 bucks for a set of bixenon retros for my srt, and they were worth every penny. the output and pattern of light are amazing with a good set of projectors. the projectors i'd be using have clear lenses too, not the frensel lenses, so the cutoff is extremely sharp, and you have a nice thick colorband. partially doing this for fun too, so my prices are lower than most. i've sent boyer a quote already, but if you guys can put together another 4 or so orders, i can probably get better pricing. not by too much, but i think he'd knock 10-15% off my prices, and the savings gets passed right down the line.

Would it work maybe to have a High/Low set-up in one location and a Foglight HID projector in the second location. Not sure which location would work best for each projector. Also have the Foglight wired to a seperate switch so could be used whenever chose buy owner.

it'd work alright, but it's not great to "flash to pass" with a normal HID. the rapid on/off can shorten the life of the ballast and bulb. that being said, a bixenon allows flash to pass by simply moving a shield with a solenoid, so the bulb does not turn on or off.

and no real need to put a foglight into the current high beam's real estate, you can flip the shroud or flip the projector, so you can run double low beams.

:edit:
so i'm guessing you fellas would have a little more faith if i retro'd my bike first and posted up?

Matthew, you're gonna have to get pretty competetive in that field because dual projector headlamp assy's already exist for our bikes for about $350.

they aren't both high/low projectors tho. for a single high/low projector and flipping the factory high beam so you have dual low beams would run around 350 bucks, and that's with a slim 35w ballast, and a 4300k d2s bulb. look, first three people who want something done are going to pay my COST on parts, and i'll do the labor for free. i want to get this rolling as a business, but the retros i do are going to be for light output and safety, not bling factor.

and the dual projector setup you're thinking of leaves the projectors exposed to the elements, rather than protecting them behind a lens. if that's what you want, by all means get one (if you can find one), but if you want an actual improvement in headlight performance and output, feel free to message me.

I understand that using a projector will yield better results, but how much better? Upgrading to HID is such a huge improvement over stock already.

Do you have any pics showing the benefit of the upgrade?
