Belated newbie post

Thanks to those who responded to my first few posts- this is a great forum!

Just traded in my Bandit 1200 for an 05 Busa. Only 150 miles on the bike- busy at work and lousy weather in the NE, but I am lovin every minute.

I am pretty much a gadget geek and have mounted a Garmin 276c GPS, Escort X50 RD, and a MyFi portable satelite receiver. Am getting an Autocom system this weekend to tie it all together. Also use the H.A.R.D. heads-up diplay for the RD- works great!

The GPS and RD have nice mounting brackets. I have zip-tied the satelite player for now until I can come up with a cleaner system.

All the gauges and indicators are clearly visible from riding position.

The H.A.R.D. system has a radio transmitter under the radar detector and a small receiver that fits in the helmet. This pic shows the LED light that flashes in your peripheral vision when the rader detector goes off.

Stickers yes, reflectors optional. Personally, I'd rather keep the reflectors for increased visibility. Safety over fashion for me. Oh, welcome to the board!

Looks great but could you take/post some more pics of your mounts? A couple different angles close up, etc...

We need more info on them and your GPS system?

What is a MyFi portable satelite receiver? Is that a radio of some sort? Haven't heard of that one before?

I have been looking at the GPS setups for months and am about to bite the bullet. Just getting as many setups, ideas as I can before I buy!

hey Got-Busa that myfi is a portable xm radio it can record 5hrs of music on it. its really sweet runs $349

I got the RAM mount from cycoactive.com. They specialize in GPS for 2 wheeled vehicles, and sell all kinds of brackets and mounts so you can customize your bike.

I love the Garmin 276c. It has a nice large backlit display with antiglare coating. Easy to see in direct sunlight and beautiful at night. It holds enough map and POI data (i.e. hotels, restaurants, gas stations, etc) to cover 5 -6 states in a 128MB replaceable flash card. Also keeps every conceivable trip stat, esp max mph

.

The radar detector mount came from radarbusters.com, where I also purchased the X50 and HARD system. It nice looking black anodized aluminum.

As noted the MyFi is a portable XM radio receiver. It has a built in antenna so it gets great reception on the bike but can also be used to play back up to 5 hrs of pre-recorded music etc from your favorite stations. The kit comes with every accessory you need to hook it up in your car and home stereo.

I will post some pics of the mounting brackets.

And yes, removal of the stickers and reflectors is on my mod to do list
