I installed a new battery with higher cranking amps (1.2 instead of the standard 1.0 amp). Will this hurt over time?

I'm sure there's something wrong with that or I'm just confused. But to answer your question, there's nothing wrong with higher cranking amps as long as the charging circuit can handle the differences.
