Can someone please recommend a good FREE audio file converter/encoder/decoder to convert my iPod files to MP3's (for my Garmin GPS)? WinXP SP3 or Vista.

Thanks!

I use AUDACITY, but it's probably way too geeky for you. And you gotta copy the LAME DLL in to do MP3s.
Open the song file [or use it to record live internet streaming], then EXPORT to any of these files types: aiff, au, avr, caf htk iff mat4 mat5 paf pvf raw sd2 sds sf voc w64 wav wavex xi gsm mp3 ogg flac m4a ac3 amr wma
Audacity: Download

there is probably easier tools out there

The converter that Powers mentions does not convert protected iPod files, but a friend of mine sent me one that will without problems. It's a 14 day trial, with $24.94 unlock, but in 14 days I can convert my hayabusa playlist and save it to my zumo no problem. Since the iPod police might not like it, PM me and I'll send you the link.
