You need the Complete Package to go fast and be competative regardless of the bike or car. In this order - Setup, comparable HP and a talented + experienced rider/driver. Naturally you need the money to accomplish the goals. Choosing a bike or car with a comparative advantage over others just makes it easier.

When I went to buy a new bike 4 months ago, I read up and found that on paper, the ZX14 trounces the Busa.. My buddy kept reminding me how hideous they are, but I pressed on. When I got to the dealership, ther really was no other decision then the Busa. THEY ARE BUTT UGLY!!!!!! My buddy has one, he is about 40lbs lighter, we have about the same mods... His best pass to date 9.38 at 149MPH, my best pass 9.42 at 145. There is a clear difference in the HP department, but like the scooter and the fat girl analogy... Ya wouldn't want your friends to ever catch you riding one..

dont believe anything in those rags
a few hundredths is the difference between a good launch and a great launch at that level of riding
and whos to say that the rider is even any good and not the authors butt buddy

peoples have been talking about the Kawasaki ZX-14 and saying that this is the busa beater....

Indeed Hayabusa is one of the fastest superbike but still bunch of super fastest motorcycles have been introduced which can be its contemporaries or beaters.
