any decent riding near Charlotte, NC?

I currently live in Tulsa and it takes about an hour or so to get to some decent twisties. I'm possibly moving to Charlotte and was wondering if there are any decent twisties close by. I know the mountains are close to Asheville, but is there anything that would be fairly close for a short cruise, or is it mostly straights? Thanks!

There are plenty of twisty roads within 10-20 miles east of there. Nothing but curvy roads around the lake.

However, it is so congested in that area that even with potentially fun roads, trafic might be a nightmare.
